I left my computer power cord at home this Thanksgiving, so I had an unintentional unplugged couple of days. Which was nice kind of. Especially since my phone was still fully functioning. Well I'm all charged up now, and still wanted to add in my two cents about Thanksgiving. I thought I'd include a couple of pics from the holiday, including a nice one of my rellys playing football and lots of Mint snuggling... however, I accidentally deleted them all. asdgja;lskdgja. I say again, asldkfajs;dlgajk! (Not swearing, just doing a little freestyle typing catharsis)
It has a way of bringing to focus the big picture. Of single-handedly reprioritizing our motives in alignment with God's will. It keeps our worries and angst at bay, giving us a healthy dose of that California surfer dude chill spirit. So we can relax and enjoy the gifts we've been given. Thankfulness requires acknowledging a Provider, the hand of another in bringing about our present blessings. It's an elongated upwards gaze, honoring God for His role in our lives, a role we dangerously often take for granted and ignore. Thankfulness is not limited to warm beds, cupcakes, and butterflies, but even and especially for the trials and challenges that refine our character and dependence on God.
