Old Faithful

Oh the sock bun. It's turning into my Old Faithful hairstyle. In third grade it was the clip about an inch off the forehead with the hair down. In high school it was the low bun with the foof/poof thing. And now, the sock bun. Though flyways and bangs make it less low maintenance than it appears. Except anytime all your hair is off the face, life is good, right? Faces need to breathe too.

Style tip for the day: Layer a beaded necklace with a metallic necklace for some extra pizzazz, a little mix of urban and earthy.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are settling back into routines nicely. We lucked out with a few more days off so we are still putting off routines around here.

sweater: c/o stitch fix (See how else I styled it here), shirt: c/o stylemint, skirt: jcrew (similar), bag: target (similar for $10!), tights: kohl's (similar), booties: charlotte russe (similar)

That chevron sweater is fab! Love it with the bright blue top. And the necklace layering is great too.

I like the little mix of urban and earthy. Very cool.

I have an old sock bun from my "chonga" (a very specific Miami character) days back in high school, but it's far too big for what's in style now. So I actually bought a non-sock sock bun thing at H&M the other day, but I have yet to try it. Using my own thick hair has been simple enough so far, but I have a feeling the sock bun method simplifies things quite a bit. I should get to it!

I wish I could manage a sock bun like you! It's so stylish and cute...but my hair refuses to do anything like that :P Great chevron sweater, btw.
